We’ve recently been made aware of a scam involving individuals impersonating our company, Ripe Media, to offer fake job opportunities through messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, and SMS.

We want to be very clear: these messages are not from us.

Unfortunately, scammers have gone as far as cloning our website and using lookalike domain names (such as ripemedia.top, ripemedias.fr, and others) in an attempt to appear legitimate. In some cases, they even redirect you to a website that looks nearly identical to ours—but it’s hosted on a raw IP address or suspicious domain. These fake sites often contain broken links and fabricated contact details.

What the Scam Looks Like

Here’s how it typically unfolds:

  • You receive a message out of the blue offering a job opportunity “with Ripe Media”

  • The sender may say they’re from a staffing company like “ProLogistix”

  • They link to a site that looks like ours, but the domain is wrong (e.g., not ripemedia.com)

  • The job may involve “brand promotion” and request money or cryptocurrency transactions

  • Communication is kept strictly through messaging apps or SMS—never email

If this sounds familiar, please stop engaging immediately and do not share any personal information.

What You Can Do

We’re actively working with cloud hosting providers and federal authorities to shut these scams down, and your help can make a difference.

If you think you’ve been contacted by one of these impersonators:

  • Double check the website URL — our only official domain is: www.ripemedia.com

  • Check our real contact email — we only use addresses ending in @ripemedia.com

  • Reach out to us directly through our Contact Page if something seems off

  • Report suspicious emails or texts to the FTC or IC3.gov

We’ll investigate every report we receive and do our best to get fraudulent sites taken down as quickly as possible.

How to Tell It’s Really Us

  • We do not send unsolicited job offers via messaging apps

  • We have never used a “login/register” section on our website

  • We don’t ask people to deposit funds or use crypto as part of our hiring or business process

  • We will always communicate using official company emails and phone numbers

If you’re ever unsure, we’re here to help.
