So who is Ripe? Ripe was started by a husband and wife team who turned to themselves one day and said “Hey, we could do this for ourselves!” They knew we had the skills to produce high-quality work but could they also successfully launch their own business? Five years later, Ripe is an established, thriving business that works with Fortune 100 companies on
an international level as well as with budding local entrepreneurs and other small businesses.
Ripe's founders:
Chris Simental/Director of All Things Technology (left brainer)
Chris is a natural tinkerer and problem solver. In 1984, when Chris was 13, his mother gave him a used computer. Chris proceeded to completely disassemble it and then rebuilt and upgraded it over time to play music, video games, browse message boards, and even write term papers. The experience sparked his interest in technology. Since then Chris has mastered several coding languages and has worked as a technical adviser for many Fortune 500 companies and organizations including Amgen, Citibank, American Express, and Disney.
Along with being a versatile programmer, Chris is well versed in Flash integration, server side technologies, e-commerce, content management systems, UI/UX, e-Learning development, open source platforms, social media, and rich Internet applications. While being an expert with a decade-plus of experience is remarkable, it's Chris's level-headed and collaborative nature that our clients seem to value the most. He's the ideal tech guy who, as a business owner, understands how things fit into the bigger picture and has fun while doing it.
Heather Richman/Director of All Things Creative (right brainer)
Heather was born a designer. As a child she covered her bedroom walls with drawings, photographs, finger paintings and posters of Michael Jackson—remember the one with the yellow v-neck sweater and sparkly white glove? Even at this early age she was conscious of composition and was intrigued by imagery and its affect on perception and emotion. Over time these ponderings developed into creating art and study printmaking, photography and art history at CSU Long Beach.
Enter the computer, technology and all that other amazing stuff. As soon as Heather sat down at her first computer she knew she'd found her calling. After teaching herself the core design programs, she went on to work with ad agencies, multimedia companies, marketing departments, start-ups and Fortune 100 companies. And for over a decade has been building distinctive brand identities through print, web and multimedia work. As a business owner Heather experiences true satisfaction in creating an environment where the ideas are flowing and the possibilities seem endless. She proudly makes her living as a designer who smiles when a typeface is just right, who enjoys brainstorming and believes that hard work, success and fun can and should coexist.
