Welcome!
Greetings Ripe friends! Spring is in the air and so it’s out with the old and in with the new
at Ripe Media. We’ve revamped our logo and are feeling refreshed by the transformation.
We wanted something bold and vibrant that better represented us and our brand promise,
but not too different from the original logo. So presto -- our new logo is up in the top left
corner. A re-designed web site is on the way and we’ve spiced up our office to represent
the new look. Hopefully, an open house party coming this summer with some samplings of
Chris’ award-winning microbrews, lively music, and general mingling. Stay tuned!
Below are some newly launched sites and projects, along with industry information and stuff that
we just like and want to share. Through this newsletter we like to keep in touch with our clients, colleagues, friends and family. If you
have any questions or something to add, email us directly. We hope all is well in your lives and please keep in touch with Ripe Media!
Cheers!! - Chris + Heather [getmore@ripemedia.com/310-358-9193/109 n. la cienega blvd, beverly hills, ca 90211]

Ripe, working in partnership with our friends at
Fraser Communications, has developed a new
site for the Women’s Leadership Board at Harvard.
An animated Flash file pulls from the Expression
Engine CMS allowing the client to easily update
content. The site includes a message board,
member registration and member profile pages.
Thanks to the Fraser team! We’ve enjoyed the
collaboration on this project.

A prototype for USC Libraries. The site
is an archive for gospel music -- built for members
of the gospel community and researchers. A major
goal is to raise awareness around the important
role gospel music has played in American history,
much like jazz. Ripe created the information
architecture and design. The USC libraries team
is handling the development. Congrats to Tim, Joyce
and the whole USC team!

Why Looks Matter in E-Learning Courses (And What You Can Do About It)
Looks matter. We all like to think we’re not prejudiced and won’t judge something based solely on its looks. But the truth is it’s very difficult to ignore the way something looks. Just go clothes shopping with your teenage daughter and you’ll have the proof.

Ripe has been producing e-learning courseware and tools for 10+ years.
We’ve worked with many Fortune 500 companies to develop training to
teach sales techniques, software simulations, HR policies and a myriad
of other industry-specific courses. We pride ourselves in providing
top-quality work at prices that are competitive due to the efficiencies
and tools we’ve developed over the years. We’re always looking for ways
to make courseware easy and fast to produce which allows for more time
to focus on the content and student experience. We just launched a web
site that outlines our capabilities and services: www.ripetraining.com.
If you’re interested in seeing a demo or finding out more about our tools,
such as the RipeTracker, drop us a line: getmore@ripetraining.com.

We’ve worked with several open source content management systems and we think Expression Engine is by far the most flexible. Expression Engine gives us the freedom to create sites with complex designs without needing to force it into a template. Plus, the backend UI is very intuitive and our clients find it easy to use.

We want to give a shout-out to Ruby Manadero. She is a talented designer/art director. On top of mad skills, she is a thinking designer who understands the overarching business goals of a project. She brings so much creative and strategic thinking to the table. Ruby is a joy to work with and is the Ripester of the month.

Logos and branding
Ripe Media has been developing brand identities for many years.
It’s something we truly enjoy because we get to brainstorm with
our clients and uncover the root or essence of their business.
It’s not just matching colors and choosing pretty fonts. It’s
creating a mark and a system that represents the spirit of your
organization and tells your story. Just going through our own
re-branding reminds us how important a company’s identity is
— we feel invigorated with a renewed focus on our goals.
Below are some articles and resources and above are some of the logos we’ve developed. If you’re looking to
launch a new product, company, idea and want a creative partner for your brand identity, give Ripe Media a call:
1-877-866-RIPE. We can develop your brand, web site and print materials.
